The Halloween Teaser that came out last year had most fans of Frictional Games excited and ready to play their new game. This game is an indirect sequel to Frictional Game’s previous work, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. In the same universe as the original, the player will play as Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist, set in the year 1899. Keeping with the original game, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs will play as a first-person, survival horror game. New elements have been added and some older elements have been taken away, so that the game will be fresh even for those that have player Amnesia: The Dark Descent numerous times. The developers also say that the level design is much different when compared with the original game, as seen in the trailer with its outdoor levels.

Thechineseroom, the group responsible for the indie game Dear Esther, is developing the game this time around with Frictional Games acting as the publisher.  With a new developer creating this game, we will have to see if it will be as successful as its predecessor, but with how the teaser trailer that has come out looks, it seems that it has a good chance to be as good as the original. Although there has not been an announcement in regards to the release date of this game, the general consensus is that it will be released in early 2013.
