Routine, a first person horror exploration game, is being created by Lunar Software and is set to be released sometime in 2013. Players take the role of an astronaut stuck in an abandoned lunar base. While playing you must recover enough data that will shed some light as to why everyone disappeared from the lunar base, as well as where everyone went. This game is completely non-linear, allowing players to discover the lunar base any way they want.
Another interesting feature in this indie game is that there is no restart button once you die. That’s right, this game has perma-death, meaning that all throughout this game you have to be wary and make sure you don’t make a mistake that will cost you.
On top of the perma-death players have to worry about if they were to die, they also have to deal with the fact that this game boasts no HUD, no health bars, and no points system. There will be no health potions either to restore ones health. This causes players to be even more careful as once you are hurt, you cant easily just take a health potion and forget about it. All of these features added together to give players a sense of paranoia throughout, and we hope that Routine can achieve this goal.
